Snakes and the Boy Who Was Afraid of Them (Rainbow Morning Music Picture Books) [Hardcover] Review

Snakes and the Boy Who Was Afraid of Them [Hardcover]I'm shocked at the previous reviews - some people don't give kids enough credit. While I wouldn't hand this book to a child who had a real fear of snakes, the little ones in my house found it perfectly delightful, and so did I!In fact, I am on Amazon this morning looking for other books by this author because we found this one so fun!

Many many fairy tales depict the villain getting their comeuppance in the end - even the Disney classics we watch have that dark element. This book treats the disappearance of the two bad children in a very tongue-in-cheek manner, showing the snake grinning away with two visible bumps in his 'tummy'.

The storytelling is simple, the illustrations support the story perfectly, and as an educated woman with four children of my own and a degree in Early Childhood Education, I can't see it damaging anybody's psyche.

Calm down, folks. It's a charming and very FUNNY story.
